Pamćenje je proces u kom nervni sistem trajno (dugoročna memorija) ili privremeno (kratkotrajna odnosno radna memorija) skladišti podatke. Proces upamćivanja može biti svestan ili nesvestan, što zavisi od neuroplasticiteta nervnog sistema, kao i od stepena razvijenosti kognitivnih funkcija. Pored kratkoročnog I dugoročnog pamćenja poznato je i senzorno odnosno čulno pamćenje, kada se upamti samo sirova informacija bez obrade kongitivnih procesa. Najšire gledano proces pamćenja se sastoji od 4 faze:

1. Kodiranje – informaciju koju želimo upamtiti prvu ulazi u kratkotrajnu memoriju, gde se te informacije organizuju u smislen sled. Ovim procesom individua odbacuje nevažne I suvisle podatke i pridodaje određenu važnost informaciji. Svaka osoba ima jedinstven način kodiranja pohranjivanja informacija u dugoročnu memoriju. U početku okolina umnogo utiče na to šta će dete upamtiti, sazrevanjem egzekutivnih funkcija dete se osamostaljuje u načinu kodiranja informacije.

2. Konsolidacija – često smatram međufazom, proces u kome se postepeno formiraju I učvršćuju znanja i veštine. Ovim procesom se takođe postiže rezilijentnost usvojenog gradiva, tako da ne može biti potisnuto novim informacijama.

3. Skladištenje – proces zadužen za kvalitet kodiranja informacije što direktno utiče na zadržavanja informacije. Što dete bolje razume informaciju koju je potrebno upamtiti, to će je kvalitetnije kodirati i uskladištiti u dugoročnu memoriju. Sličan procesu konsolidacije, s tim da je neophodno uključivanje viših kognitivnih funkcija.

4. Reprodukcija – proces prizivanja informacija iz skladišta, iz dugoročne memorije u kratkoročnu memoriju. Što je znanje kvalitetnije kodirano, konsolidovano i uskladišteno to će dete lakše izvršiti ovaj proces.

Vežbe za razvoj pamćenja: Pred dete postaviti 4 predmeta koje dete posmatra neko vreme (do 2 min), kada dete skrene pogled zameniti ili ukoloniti jedan predmet i pitati dete da li je sve isto ili je nešto različito. Prikazati 4 jednostavne nacrtane figure koje dete posmatra neko vreme (do 2 minuta) i tražimo od deteta da reprodukuje figure na papiru. Umesto predmeta ili jednostavnih crteža detetu se mogu pokazati slike ukoliko je složeniji model vežbanja potreban. Kod stariji dece možemo i menjati raspored prostorije I položaj većih predmeta u prostoru (koji je od ranije poznat detetu) i pitati ga šta je drugačiji I tražiti da vrati predmete na svoje mesto.

Vežbe ritma su odlične za razvijanje pažnje i kratkoročne (radne memorije). Početi od tri takta – prim. leva ruka desna ruka leva ruka; leva ruka desna noga desna ruka… Ovom vežbom dete vežba usmeravanje pažnje, pamćenje, motoriku, auditivnu i vizuelnu percepciju. U skladu sa sposobnoćću I uzrastom deteta prilagođavati broj taktova. Takođe se mogu koristi didaktička sredstva poput metalofona, zvečke i slične zvučne igračke. To ne znači da treba zapostaviti stimulaciju pamćenja, kod deteta možemo svakodnevno uticati na razvoj pamćenja kroz jednostavne svakodnevne aktivnosti. Prim.
