Prema teoriji lateralizacije mozak je podeljen na dva dela odnosno na dve hemisfere – levu i desnu. Kod svake osobe je dominantna jedna strana mozga, na koju se oslanja pri svakodnevnim aktivnostima. Poznavanje i razumevanje lateralizovanosti sebe sveukupno dovodi do kvalitetnijeg života kako deteta tako i odraslih.
